About Destination Travel Guide
The central home of an international network of independent, destination-specific travel guides.
What we are
Destination Travel Guide is an independent editorial travel-information website. It is the parent site of the Destination Travel Guide network, a family of travel guides that each concentrate on a single destination, region or audience.
Destination Travel Guide is not an official tourism authority, travel agency, tour operator, hotel group or booking platform. Commercial and affiliate relationships do not determine editorial conclusions.
How the network works
Each guide in the network covers its destination in depth: regions, routes, seasons, places to stay, tours and practical advice. This site introduces every destination we cover, explains how the guides relate to one another and helps you move between them, for example when you are planning a trip that crosses a border.
The specialist guides remain the primary source of detailed information for their destinations. We deliberately keep the country overviews on this site short, so that you always reach the most complete and up-to-date guidance.
Languages
This site is published in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Chinese. Most country and island guides in the network are available in the same languages; Cape Town Travel Guide and Etosha Namibia are published in English, and Namibia Urlaub in German.
Independence
The publications in our network share editorial standards, but each is edited for its own destination. No tourism body, hotel or tour operator approves our content before publication.
How we are funded
Some pages on our network websites contain affiliate links. If you book through one, the website may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Our affiliate disclosure explains how this works and how we keep it separate from editorial judgement.
